This article will serve as a guide for the newly revamped media portal that exists on files you create inside of Searchie. Note: Some of the new changes such as analytics and stats are reflected on playlist, widgets, hubs as well.
How to Access the File Manager
Accessing the file portal is as easy as clicking one of the files you've created in Searchie. You can either search for a file or find one located in your Searchie media dashboard (app.searchie.io/media) or folder section. After doing this, the media portal for this file will open.
Now you're inside the newly created file portal! This portal allows you to manage aspects of your file and link or connect this content to other elements of the app. You will find many things you can change in this portal including titles, descriptions, customizable thumbnails, attachments, privacy settings, adding it to one of your playlists, embedding, sharing, linking, downloading, statistics, viewer data and SOOO much more! More details will be explained on each of the elements below.
Title & Description - Some editable fields in the portal are file name and your description. Changing these fields will require you to type your desired changes into the text box and select the 'save' button. Changes will soon be reflected in the preview player inside the very same portal!
Customization - You're able to insert your own thumbnails here if you aren't keen on the one that Searchie has automatically generated for you. You can do this from selecting the 'change thumbnail button'. Here you'll also be able to find the Canva integration we've set up 'Design on Canva'. If you're unfamiliar with this setup please read this article as you'll have to create a Canva account to start using this tool. This tool will allow you to create a thumbnail inside the advanced Canva editor that will fit to format on your Searchie file itself.
Attachments - Attachments are way to add content into your lessons or videos that will show up in your hubs for that file. If a file has a pdf or learning guide to go along with it, this would be a great place to add that in.
Tags - Tags can also be applied here. Tags are a way to describe your content and can be used for filtering and organizing your content . Tags work with a variety of features inside Searchie. They are also a way for your audience to filter your files. For example putting tags on files that come from the 2019 course as opposed to the 2020 course.
Privacy settings - Here you'll be able to manage the privacy settings for this file specifically. If you do not want users to see your file publicly, you are able to setup a domain embed so you can embed this file behind a website or password that you've created. You can also set a file to private if you wish. Read more here: Configuring privacy settings in Searchie
You're also able to disable audio/transcript downloads and the share button inside of the player here:

This includes when an individual user started to watch the file, specific keywords that they've searched for in the file, when they finished the file if they did, likes/dislikes for the file and other important insights.
Preview - In the right side of the portal, you'll have a preview window of the file that you're working with. This is a player that can be used to test your new changes to and see the searching experience. Searching in the app will also bring you to this player with your desired keyword inserted.
