This article will help you get using the Searchie player to embed individual media items.
What you will need:
Step 1 - Accessing the Player
Now, from the main Searchie dashboard click the drop-down menu beside the video you'd like to open in the new player and select 'Embed'.
Step 2 - Player Settings (Player Controls)
Once you've opened up the player you'll be able to tweak how your personalized video player will appear to others and yourself through a vast selection of settings available. All settings are toggleable on/off so you can decide which ones you'd like to have yourself. First settings you will see are the player controls, they are as follows:
Play Button: Choose whether or not to show a play button on the bottom toolbar of the player. Plays and pauses the video.
Large Play Button: Choose whether or not to show a large play button before you play the video. Shows in the video preview.
Restart Button: Restarts the video in progress.
Fast forward Button: Skips ahead in the video 5 seconds every time.
Rewind Button: Skips back in the video 5 seconds every time.
Step 3 - Player Settings (Timeline)
Progress Bar - The bar along the bottom of the video that tracks how far you are in the video.
Current Time: Displays the current time in the bottom toolbar of the video '00:01' for example.
Duration: Displays the total time the video will take in the bottom toolbar of the video '00:06' for example.
Step 4 - Player Settings (Video)
Picture in picture - Creates a smaller video player that can be viewed on different tabs.
Airplay - Allows streaming video between different devices
Fullscreen - Maximizes the player screen size to your screen
Step 5 - Player Settings (Audio)
Volume - Controls the audio levels of your video.
Step 6 - Player Settings (Settings Menu)
File Title - Takes the file title and displays it in the top left corner of the player if turned on. (which is editable in through the editor)
File Description - Takes the file description (which is editable in through the editor) and displays it in your player.
Settings - Allows users to tweak settings based on their preferences when viewing your video.
Speed - A speed setting that allows users to either slow down the video or speed up the rate at which it is played.
Quality - Allows customizable video quality output
Captions - Displays captioning in your video based on the transcript you have already.
Step 7 - Player Settings (Transcription)
Search transcriptions - The magnifying glass in the top right corner of the player which allows users to search keywords within the video as its playing simultaneously.
Step 8 - Player Settings (Appearance)
Accent colour - Change the accent colours within the player - transcription timestamps, progress bar, toggles and more.
Step 9 - Player Settings (Privacy)
Audio Download - Toggles whether you want the end-user to be able to download your video audio
Transcription Download - Toggles whether you want the end-user to be able to download your video transcription
Share Button - Enables the share button in the top right hand of the player, with this you can provide a watchable link to the video and choose a point in time when the video starts to play.
Like Button - The heart-shaped button in the middle of the toolbar, allows users to react at certain points in your video of their choosing.
Step 10 - Save and Embed
Once you've figured out all the settings you'd like to include in your player don't forget to press the save button.
Once you've saved all you need to do now is embed the player into your website. You can do this by clicking into the 'Embed' button on the bottom right-hand corner of your screen and copy the code you see here. Now you're able to paste it your website and this player you created will be available for all your viewers and consumers.
